About me
Hello,
My name is Corinna and I graduated from Central Michigan University in December 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising & Design, and a minor in Journalism.
Bio
Most people are surprised to find out that I grew up in a tiny town in the tip-top of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, called Hancock. Fashion is not usually the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the U.P. I have been obsessed with fashion ever since I can remember and grew up watching runway shows on the Style Network instead of cartoons. Even though I always knew I loved fashion, I never thought of it as a tangible career path. When I started school at CMU, I was a biology major. I stayed a biology major for 2 years until I realized that I hated it. Once I started the fashion program, I knew I found the perfect fit for me.
WHY
I love fashion because clothes give you a way to control how you are perceived by other people. Fashion makes it possible to give off a good first impression and feel confident in yourself. I want everyone to see the impact an amazing outfit can make in your self-esteem and overall attitude on life!
I believe:
-
Asking myself critical questions and searching for the answers is the key to self-awareness and discovery. This is essential in working efficiently alone or within a team.
-
It is better to be overdressed and over-prepared than underprepared and underdressed because standing out from the crowd for exceeding expectations will guarantee that people remember you.
-
It's better to slow down my thought process and focus on completing one task at a time to ensure that it is done professionally and accurately. Quality is much more important than quantity
-
My background in journalism will contribute exponentially to my success in the apparel industry. I understand the elements of deadline pressure and utilizing words to translate abstract concepts to appeal to a wide variety of different audiences and target markets.
